In spring and summer 2011 I worked for the European Commission, writing a guide to European Employment Policy. It provides a policy overview of the agenda, and the EU's strategy, role and priorities. It sets out the challenge EU countries face on unemployment, skills and creating new jobs as well as what the EU is doing to tackle these issues, before charting the way ahead in the framework of the Europe 2020 growth and employment agenda. It was published by the European Commission in September 2011 and is available in English, French and German. Copies are available free of charge from the EU online Bookshop. The electronic version is available on the DG Employment and Social Affairs' website.
